Commentaries will include mini-reviews of books by authors, interviews, and general purpose commentary. Usually, a column will focus on one or two authors. The titles of the newest works will often be links to brand-new reviews that will be more in-depth or have a different focus than those in the column itself.

There will also be a number of 'illustrations' with captions. The illustrations are there to relieve the eye, break up the text and generally entertain. The captions are there to see if anyone is actually reading them.
